Project Description:
As part of the BP digital transformation scope, the migration of legacy systems into a current single source of true with visability across all BP Operations worldwide. Pipeline Reporting & Inspection System Multi-media (PRISM) stores inspection data in ASCII file format, through a web interface. The inspection data includes ROV inspection, side scan sonar (SSS), landfall surveys, transverse profile data, video and images. This system of record was started in the 1990's and the file format changed at the millennium. Prior to the millennium, the data was stored in dBase III format.
PDS Scope:
Pipeline Data Solutions was selected by BP to extract, transform and load over 25 years of inspection data stored in PRISM for their North Sea assets and map this data into a client specific implementation of the PODS data model. This involved:
Undertaking a review of the PRISM file and data formats to produce a mapping into the PODS data model.
The creation of over 900,000 inspection records and over 16.5 million transverse profile data records.
